new years resolution: get rid of evo
Nothing wrong with that. I enjoy driving my Saturn or Dodge because it's no worries just fill it up and drive ,their quieter, ride smoother, and get better mpg. The EVO is only fun if you run it and then it's the endless worry of a rock chip (inevitable), the occasional idiot trying to rev at me in his, am I going to get a ticket?, not too mention the mod bug, the gosh this thing feels slow bug.
My EVO hasn't seen 50 miles in the last two months. I just keep amassing parts and one day it'll be fast which means more and more money.
Still need a turbo kit, shortblock, misc. fittings I have everything else a mbc, TBE, filter, 100 octane tune, just doesn't cut it anymore. Good luck and enjoy the normalcy of driving a reliable no worries car.

3 days into 2008, already accomplished it tonight after negotiating at the dealership for 2hrs.
lower int rate, smaller payment, better epa, shorter term, cheaper insurance, cheaper maintenance...could u go wrong?
2004 Honda accord coupe
Silver
AT
37k miles
5k below kbb value
2500 down ($500 more i put down on my evo)
In the end, i save 20k (compared to the evo after taxes and interest)
I'm happy. The evo was my 6 or 7th racecar i owned. I opted for a "normal car.".......(FOR NOW) and if i really need a speedster i'll just hop on a used 05 R6.
Although the evo is gone, i will not be. I've been sticking around evoM quite a while and have got accustomed to it.
btw: this is my first "econo" car so im sure i'll be happy everytime when i have to pay for maintenance since i'll be comparing all the prices to the prices of an evo, srt, gto etc...

, you can quite easily turn that thing into a fire-breathing 12-second car. You just gotta resist the temptation to Google "Accord Hi-Po parts" You know this, don't you?
BTW, since you're now relying on your Yamaha to get your ya-ya's, you should upgrade to a Kawasaki.
^^^exactly. No, i dont plan to mod it. This is my "get-by" car for atleast 2-3years so i can put my money towards other invests. I've learned through all these years that modding my cars were pretty useless investments aside from the fact they were fun as ****...they never really 'got me ahead" in life in anyway........BUT as for next car, im saving for a used 06 Audi RS4 or C6 z06 since theyre starting to depreciate pretty fast.

I don't know maybe it is just me, but I have put over 30k miles on my car and maintence doesn't seem too bad. Less than $25 for oil changes(do it yourself) I just changed all my fluids(center and rear diffs, tranny) $50. for fluids from ams(do it yourself.... it is easy) tires, haven't bought any yet... I was getting close but traded for some new rims..... Insurance(through esurance I pay $90 a month for full coverage) I am 22. Knock on wood but the only thing that has gone wrong with my car is the stock clutch started to slip, but I planned on changing that anyhow.
So the only thing that is expensive is premium gas.. and I will be going to E-85 shortly so it is like putting race gas in for just as cheap or cheaper than premium....
To me it doesn't seem bad....
I don't think I could go to driving something ecomony wise, maybe something like a 135i, 335i, or something nice but still has good power.

FAIL
Posting a thread like this is asking to get flamed.
You should post this on Accord forums and discuss it with housewives there. You'll get plenty of groupie love after you explain to them wtf an Evo is.

driveline ok 150 bucks if you do it yourself. and parts i dont find it that expensive.
when one of my fuel injectors broke it was $150-180 bucks for 1 injector.
on my vr6.
if you cant afford the maintance then an evo is proabbly out of your price range.
.... ok let me get this straight...because i choose to opt for a more reliable, cheap, known to be solid car, i'm gonna get flamed? you speak as if i bought the accord to race it, i went from about 6 manual tranny cars to a automatic honda accord coupe with 160hp. i choose to invest my earnings into things that are more profitable and put money IN my pocket so i can buy a car thats worth about 4-5x as much as your car in the later futureI'm glad some of you see more to life than owning a 30k mitsubishi. I have bigger dreams than that. And with that in mind, i am HAPPILY willing to sacrifice my evo and drive a econo car for a few years until i can very easily own a 80-100k vehicle with income coming in from various directions because i chose to save a couple hundred extra a month when i was young.
PS: I've had many racecars and owning and maintaining isnt really a issue. My mindset is more like "i wonder what i could have done with this money instead of putting it toward my car" kind of deal
