new years resolution: get rid of evo
new years resolution: get rid of evo
3 days into 2008, already accomplished it tonight after negotiating at the dealership for 2hrs.
lower int rate, smaller payment, better epa, shorter term, cheaper insurance, cheaper maintenance...could u go wrong?
2004 Honda accord coupe
Silver
AT
37k miles
5k below kbb value
2500 down ($500 more i put down on my evo)
In the end, i save 20k (compared to the evo after taxes and interest)
I'm happy. The evo was my 6 or 7th racecar i owned. I opted for a "normal car.".......(FOR NOW) and if i really need a speedster i'll just hop on a used 05 R6.
Although the evo is gone, i will not be. I've been sticking around evoM quite a while and have got accustomed to it.
btw: this is my first "econo" car so im sure i'll be happy everytime when i have to pay for maintenance since i'll be comparing all the prices to the prices of an evo, srt, gto etc...

**** that if I was gonna get rid of an evo I'd downgrade to something thats at least awd and somewhat moddable.
Accords are great from getting from a to b though and thats probably the best economically viable decision you could make.

I like to check everyones viewpoints on these things. It makes me wonder what to d o with a char that eats gas at times.. $100 dollar a barrel of gas i heard on the news. I'm guessing gas will rise to around 3.41 for just low unleaded petrol. Hmmm High Octane will be a bich for everyones wallet? ya?
and thats exactly why im happy...great econo car.
btw: after my first 03 evo, i got a S14 240, then a SRT4, then a pontiac GTO, then a evo again, so yes i have "downgraded" but now i've learned my lesson on blowing tons of $$ on racecars (for now)

tires, requires premium gasoline, synthetic oil changes every 3000-3500 miles, full driveline oil changes every 15k, insurance, when things DO break, it costs an arm and a leg, mitsu wont warranty crap
Economically, of course, there are definitely better cars to own than the evo. It basically just depends on the level of satisfaction you get from owning your evo. People are different. Stupid thread.
