Mmmm... RED Evolution VII
Mmmm... RED Evolution VII
Word can describe how excited I am now that I might have a EVO VII RS-2. After watching gas prices go up and up and doing some talking to older people I have decided to get the coolest car I know of before hitting 30. Something to enjoy my late 20's in.
I'm not modding her... I'm just not in that scene.
Still debating on the Sun Roof... but I am leaning towards yes. I figure I can get the Hybrid car when I am 30 and put the Lancer in the Garage as a sunday driver.
I just hope that the car isn't stolen. Car theft increased by 30% last year in Seattle.

hey omta ,they dont make evo7 anymore.the RS2 never came w/sunroof,only the GSR did and they only came in RHD.so i guess if you want a sunroof its going to be a LHD converted GSR.if you have any questions you can PM me or email me
You probably should have asked around here first before throwing your money at evolution imports. _No one_ in the U.S. who has purchased an Evo VII has taken ownership. Further, I don't believe the petition to make the VII legal has even hit the federal register yet.
There is still a long way to go before EI can release the cars, and there is still a question of whether or not it will ever happen at all.

They are looking for either a GSR or a RS-2... with low miles. The car is purchased used in Japan, then converted in US. I am not getting my car delivered I am picking it up in person and driving it to Seattle.
If a sun roof model isn't available then i am having it added while they do the LHD conversion. The sunroofs were always added after the car had been completely assembled. They just cut a hold in the roof and put it in before doing the interior cloth. So adding the sunroof after market is the same factory sunroof in the GSR.
So naturally there is risk involved... but some things are worth taking the risk. The whole thing should take about 12 weeks or less. Depending on what they can find.

What about this guy http://www.victorbrant.com/index1.html looks like he was at the DSM shootout https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...5&pagenumber=1
Well, I have looked around the forums and yes there is a lot of interesting stuff floating around out there. First off, I won't be ordering a EVO VII until it's in the Vehicle Eligibility List.

I still have not placed my order, so the next time I talk to Adam I will bring up the DOT stuff.
Worst comes to worst, I won't get one... I'll move to Australia, then get one.

ahaha.. have you seen how much cars cost in Australia??? Maybe you can move to Germany instead. Germans don't like Japanese cars anyway, so the Evo's are cheaper there.

You want to pass up the warranty? You want to pass up the ability to have any
dealership work on the car, versus having to pay some stupid amount of money to have a speed shop do it? You want to pay the extra fees it takes to have a "grey market" car in the US? You want to go through all that hassle for what? AYC/ACD? Trust me, it's not worth it. I guess I'm just confused why you'd even want too. You'll be waiting for 12 weeks or whatever, probably even longer, going through many headaches and paying a lot more for a car that is slower, handles worse and doesn't come with a manufacturer warranty.
