If you have much beyond basic bolts ons and want more than a standard map right now I'd go with a custom tune. I've been searching for over a week looking for custom tuning on the Accessport and haven't found much. Some shops have a Beta version, but tuners seem to be pretty scarce right now. It sounds like a great idea, but doesn't seem like there's been a lot of follow up for the Evo on Cobbs part.

custom dyno tune or mail in flash

accessport does not justify it's price tag...when I had a suby I had one it's a neat tool but it's been proven 1,000,000 times that the stock evo ecu is ballin'

I have a custom street tune. If I was going to do a Mail-In, MELLON is great from everything that I have heard! Or go with one of the good shops that do Dyno tuning, I wouldnt suggest Dynoflash however, heard too many bad things to recommend.

I did read an article on here where AMS loved the accessport and said it was great! Ill try to find that article for you, I really like the Cobb just dont have the money for it, plus to get it tuned!

I'm planning on running a pump map and a E85 map this summer, thats why I'm running the accessport.

That said, the follow up has been pretty lax from Cobb so far for the Evo version. I've heard they are already working on the X version, so who knows where that leaves us, but it seems like if simple things like rear O2 disable are giving them troubles and NLTS then who knows how long it will be for more advanced options.

I was hoping things like boost based ECU boost control (instead of load based), JDM map sensor use, selectable launch control, CEL on knock, and other features would all be quick to market for Cobb and a long way down the road for ECUFlash, but then just after I purchased my AP these features started to pop up for one and not the other....

In the same token accessport allows tuners to dial in your car much better and quicker, and you don't have to wear out the memory in your ECU by constantly writing to it.

I think if I was looking for a single map I would be sticking with mail in for now, but everyone's needs are different.

A custom email tune will dial your car in 110% for your mods and location. Base maps will only get you so far and will never have your car running at its full potential.

If youre interested in getting tuned remotely please shoot me a PM.

Cheers!

I'd recommend 4WS for your email flashing needs.
