What happened to the Works 6MT Short Shifter

Ive wanted one, read the whole thread only to see it suddenly DIE in june of 06? Wtf

I have a feeling problems were encountered by everyone who tackled this for the MR IX. Short throw shifters aren't all that great anyway, especially on a car that has a reputation for a fragile 6spd tranny to begin with. There are plenty of other items for your car that are much more deserving of your lust.

I had a SSK on my last car, and to begin with it was incredibly stiff shifting. Thats pretty much mainly what Im looking for...The EVO shifter pops out of gear way too easily IMO.

the only way u can get it is if u go to works and have them install it. price is $199

i talked to a local dealership that is a works distributor, the manager that deals with the works line said that they had a problem with the short shifter causing the gears to grind, so they dont offer it anymore. hope this helps ive felt one in person and its crazy short, i really wanted it

there must be something wrong with your gear box ive had an evo for over 4 years and never had he shifter pop out gear.
