My car is stock and I spin the front tires when the turbo spools on a cold day (snow tires). Going around corners under boost will tell you if the AWD is dead. By the way, it's not.

It's also not a good idea to try and chirp your tires when going from 1st to 2nd by letting the clutch out fast and slamming on the gas.

Don't launch the car and don't bang gears.

What the hell is a Stage 3 clutch?

stage 3? what does that mean?
open diffs are not uncommon to slip the wheels. by slipping the wheels, i mean the torque will stop going to that wheel that is turning/not turning at the same rate as the other wheels...on the other hand, limited slip diffs are limited to slip hence the name. only a certain amount of torque still goes to the wheel that is turning at a different rate. locking diffs will not cut down the torque to the wheels when it senses different speeds.

03 does have open diff..if you have one wheel slipping, torque will be transfered evenly to the other 3 wheels.

anyways, i doubt anything i going out..u still have all 4 wheels turning which means torque is still applied to it from the engine...if anything, you would hear noise..maybe its just the cold weather?

There's nothing wrong with your car. It's the cold weather that's causing the wheel slippage (your tires are cold and so is the road which causes less grip). You're probably feeling a bit of torque steer as well, huh?

If wheels are spinning, that is a indication that power is being properly transfered through the drive train, now if you were bogging and loosing power then you have a problem.

So which is it. Had the car for a couple of months or you've had the car for atleast a year? Put the car on a lift, turn it on in gear and see if you're wheels spin.

Why not just leave the car in neutral on that lift with no handbrake set and rotate one wheel by itself and see what the other wheels do?

PS: He could have bought the car in October of last year, went to the track a couple of times, saw some problems recently, and posted about them now. That would explain how he owned the car for just a few months but yet still launched a few times it last year.

This reminds of a guy who wrote once saying, "When I step on the clutch is the entire transmission supposed to move?" No, that's not you problem but it is a good idea to keep the tranny bolted to the engine.

its not the front wheels spinning if the car slides side to side, that means your rear wheels are spinning. the front would have you continue forward not side to side. the rears, make the car go side to side.

car is fine

I had those exact same issues. It all started like that and then a month later it was harder to get going in first and then second. Everyone told me....its the cold weather. I also have an 03 and the coupler inside the transfer case went out. There was no death wine because the ring and pinion are fine. A month later I could go nowhere.

Yes I'm sure it's your rear tires spinning... take it easy out of a parking lot/turn, then hammer it... if the tail kicks out, it's definitely your rear tires spinning.. and your AWD is working fine I can literally do this, even in 2nd gear, heck even in 3rd. I can get on it and it's going fast, but as soon as the turbo kicks in, all hell will break loose...
