Firts Lancer 1.8T GSR 4WD modifications
Hello guys,
I have a MMC Lancer 1.8T GSR 4WD (1998 spec) in standard mode.
Due to its low milleage i have decided to do some job on it but avoiding, for the moment, any engine disassembly. In my oppinion the first step could be changing the intercooler, throttle body, inlet & exhaust modificatins, installing a blow-off valve, etc but i really want to know who could offer this aftermarket parts that can fit properly or maybe someone´s piece of advise.
regards,
OCR

Hey a friend of mine used to have one of those when I lived in Japan. The Evo stock turbo can be swapped over along with alot of the older Evo 1-3 body parts. Theres just no room in the front bumper for a FMIC so you might have to do some cutting if you want to install one. That or swap over a Evo front end. There used to be a company in NZ that sold bodykits for Evos for dirt cheap and decent quality stuff. http://www.bodykit.co.nz/ I think thats it (all prices are in NZ dollars). Its been a while though. You can buy a clutch for it off of clutchnet.com and go with something decently priced like an ACT. I think I have the email address of the guy who ended up buying his car. I'll try to track it down so you can exchange ideas with him.
N/A, I think he has the second gen GSR, which the engine is located the same way as the EVO IV-VIII and the body style is the same as the US Mirage.
Therefore, I doubt any EVO I-III (92-96) body parts will fit on his car...
Oscar: Welcome to the board and you sure have a rare vehicle there. For performance, you can go for the routine...Intake, Exhaust and turn up the boost. There are various of website/shops in Australia and NZ for your car. You might also want to check the Yahoo GSR/EVO club for more info

For body parts, you can go for EVO IV, V, VI or TME kit if you want the EVO appearance.
Good Luck and post some pics of your car. I know some of us would kill to see it...

Thank You Lan & N/A, im not sure but apart from Japan i think NZ was the only place where the 2nd GSR generation was oficially launched.
Ill try with the GSR / EVO club....and i´ll be attaching some of my baby-EVO V´s pictures.

On those cars the first thing to do would be the usual exhaust/intake stuff, then front mount intercooler and upgraded piping. A larger turbo with more boost would be good too.
I have a friend with one of those. It's pretty highly modified, pretty much all custom work.
