Congrats on the new GTI. They are solid little cars with a good kick to them. Not like the Evo, but a much better daily driver. Did you look at the R32 at all? Just curious.

Glad to see that your Evo found a good home.

i checked out the r32 but they dont make stick shift just the dsg and i need a clutch makes driving much better...............i choose the gti because it is turbo and i know it's potential(6 speed) the interior is great the car handles and stopes like you would not belief, i know thats sounds crazy coming from a evo, i use to have a97 vr6 and i loved that..so i just figured this would be good, on top of all that i just bought a a condo for $375,000 dollars so i could not get the rs4 i really wanted, but hey i have a new condo and a brand new car.......and hre's on the way with coilovers...

35r will not be fun on fwd. Used to have a gti but was sick of not having any traction lol but good for around town i guess. Goodluck with the car

Congrats on the GTI. I'm a big Audi/VW fan. They make great cars. The R32 is sweet, but if you're not a fan of DSG, I can understand why you wouldn't want to go with it. You also sound like you got your head screwed on straight with buying a house and sacrificing a little on the car.

Be careful with a big turbo on a GTI. You're going to get MASSIVE wheel spin and torque steer from 1st - 3rd when you really get on the gas. Not anything that you shouldn't be able to handle, but something you'll need to be especially careful of in inclement weather. And, since you're in NY, you'll definitely be seeing plenty of inclement weather. Anyhow, again, congrats

Slam it and paint all the plastic moldings the candy white. It will change everything about that car and look absolutely unreal!

My friend just sold his 07 GTI for an 05 STI.

Just saw your old Evo today. Ricky didn't waste any time on it, he put a 2.3 with a GT37 in it. It's going to be one hell of a daily driver.
