Is there a big market for EVO9 now??
I would imagine the IX RS and SE's will be the really desirable ones, since the RS was made in small numbers and the SE was only made for the last months of 06. I will certainly be holding onto my SE.
cars are made to be driven, the Evo doubly so, I doubt the we will see a bounce for at least a few years, but with all of the new regulations for cars coming, it feels like the end of an era and when people remember and clean Evo will be valuable and rare
Thanks everyone for responding. My car is defenitely in mint condition that is one reason why it's kind of hard to sell it. This is my first new car since I've alway bough used car.
Nevertheless, due to the wife being a PITA I will be keeping the car (not that it's a bad thing). It's just harder to save money due to higher monthly expense.

Why would it kill the resale value? I'm sure the depreciation will be similar to that of any car model with a new generation coming out. Being that the Evolution has a specific niche in the automotive market, each car has their own advantages. Those looking for the legendary 4G63 power in the latest model will find the IX's their perfect option. Who knows what the 4B11 will hold in store.
the IX is the most 'evolved' and finely tuned version of the EVO ( in US ). the X is a new platform and will have room for improvement, I would wait for the XI or XII if I was to go with new gen. I was actually thinking about the X when i bought my IX a couple of months ago but the thoguht of bugs and bumnps down the road with the new platform and also no proven aftermarket parts made me chose the IX. The value will not drop because of the X, if anything it will make it go up
Bye bye, the problem is that new cars take a huge depreciation hit in their first three years. I have an 05 GSR with 30k miles and only a TBE mod and tune in excellent condition. I put it back to stock 8 months ago and was offered $20k as a trade in for a $50,000 car (Roush 427R). The dealer shared with me auction sheets which showed how much had been paid for other 05 evo's at wholesale dealer auctions. 4 other 05's brought between $18k to $22k at auction. So, at that time my 05 had 22k miles, was 2.5 years old and was worth $20k (I paid $31k for it new). This is a 35% depreciation in less than 3 years which is normal for this car and all others. Keep your car at all costs because if you sell it you will take the big depreciation hit. bty, don't feel too bad as I have an 07' ZO6 that is 8 months old with 3k miles that is worth 10k less than I paid for it already

You shouldn't settle for anything less than KBB or NADA value...which will be somewhere around $27-$28K.

hmmm....seeing as this is evom, u guys should realize it also depends on where you are.
Socal has a huge demand for the ix's, so their price won't be going down anytime soon here.
maybe in the middle of loisianna ya, but to put it into perspective my friend marvin sold his IX MR SE (about 9kmiles, no mods, perfect) to southcoast mitsu for 32k

)Mine only has 4k miles and I plan to hold onto it for quite sometime.
If you decide to sell the car with all the mods you will need to find the right buyer who is looking for a car with some mods.Personally I would keep the car.You would miss the car once you sold it.
