There are usually people that are certified as a notary in hospitals so you should be all set.

rofl, so true. Eitherways, your father needs to be ther at the signing of vehicle. This is especially true if the insurance is under his name.

The process of selling my car and purchasing a new one was already in the works before he went into surgery. The surgery has been planned for over 6 months.

If you know you're lender (like on a personal basis) then he/she may be willing to let you take it with you to have it signed (possibly notarized) and then brought back but I doubt it

they don't have to be present...the dealership can go to your dads house if they want the sale.

I agree with above. You can do a couple of things. 1. Have the forms notarized at the hospital. 2. You can get a power of attorney for him (maybe your mother) and have her sign the forms for you. Either way.

well, i think you should let your dad rest a little instead of being in such a hurry to get that 9. LOL. it's just wrong to ask him to sign something while he is laid up or on the surgery table. in my opinion of course.

So I take it you just have bad credit (or no credit)... I'm sorry dude, best of luck to you and your dad for sure, its too bad credit is such a big deal these days. And yeah, totally forgot, as has been said many times, you can get a public notary but they're usually expensive.

Wow...you guys are going the hard way! It's a car, not a house. I douth you need a notary.

I bought my Ralliart and my uncle co-signed with me. We were about 600km away. My dealer sent him the paper with Fedex, he signed and sent hem back and everything was done in 2 days.

You should ask your dealer, when its for a sell, they sure find a solution to help you.

Good luck for your dad!

He doesnt need to be there. My girlfriend bought a new civic with a cosigner 5 states away. They fedex'd the papers to him, and a week later they got them. They let her take the car the same day though. I dont think it will be a problem.

The co-signer must be there to sign the paperwork. The bank almost sent paperwork overnight to my aunt but then they found out it was illegal since she was out of state. I'm not sure of all the rules and stuff but I know the bank must watch them sign the papers in front of them.
