Floor mat hook

Anyone else having issues with their driver side floormat hook. Mine is about to come out and isn't snug in there what-so-ever. Any quick fixes on this? It looks like its just held underneath the slit in the carpet. Maybe try some bonding adhesive to the floorboard to get it to stay in place?

Mine is loose too ... I just thought it was supposed to be that way since it only seems attached to the carpet. I'm considering getting some of those floor mat locks that come on VWs. they are round and actually snap in rather than just hook. They worked great on my VW ... I'm just not sure if you can even get them separately from VW.

Do you still use the carpet that came with the car? I kinda wanted to preserve those carpets since I bought my car so I've swapped them for some rubber mats since day 1, I guess those rubber ones stick to the floor better so I have no problem with the hook at all.

Yea, its pretty annoying. I might just try out some adhesive this weekend.

Another thing on the 'to-do' list it seems.

I have always placed all-weather floor mats over my stock mats to protect them.

The hook in my car was loose from the beginning. I used to have to reposition the stupid mat every time I got in the car. Finally I glued velcro strips (hooks side) to the underside of the floor mat. The mat that used to move all around now never needs adjustment, and it comes out easily for cleaning.
