3,750 Mile PitPass Service
Brought my car in for it's first oil change and tire rotation today with 3,726 miles on ODO. I go to pick the car up 3hrs later and they weren't done (quoted 2hrs to complete service). So I wait 30 minutes and after the "road test" I get in my car to see the ODO has 3,740.
This does not seem normal to me to have a 14 mile road test.
I called and spoke with the Service Manager and was told this was normal.
Anyone else notice miles after service?

There is your mistake for getting the pitpass service...... i wouldn't think a road test would ever take 14 miles....some of the guys at the dealership took out your car and had some fun.....sorry man
I don't think it's normal to have a road test after merely changing the oil and rotating the tires.
It doesn't actually say that in the pit pass does it ?
And anyways, 14 miles ! That's too damn much.
TurboZ - 500 miles on the odo after a tranny change ?? I would definitely be livid about that

That's y I always take a digital camera with me when I drop my car off anywhere. The dealer guys like to take any free car out for lunch so that they can showoff.
BTW, which dealership did u get the service at?
thx,

It does not say road test in the pit pass.
I paid 1,000 for 9 oil change and tire rotation services.
I got the service done at Veracom in San Mateo. The service manager, when I spoke to him, seemed very nice and assured me his techs don't race around in the cars. He said they take the same 14 mile route on all services. Still think its not required or needed after a oil change.

$1000!! Wow, you were raped ravenously by a lot of people! 9 oil changes should be around $540 at most ($60 each).
Too late now,

Hmmm 5 miles to crack street.... 4 miles to drive around while the crack hoe does here thing ..... 5 miles back.....
But seriously, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt this time and check and see next time of they put 14 miles on it again...
Or better yet ask them to tell you the route they take so you can double check yourself.

I ALWAYS take note of my mileage. I took note of my mileage when I got tints, HU/amp/woofer, and now when I am getting my alarm installed. There should be no mileage when an alarm is being installed. If there is, there is definately going to be a problem. There's nothing really you can do after the fact, but before I leave my car with anyone - I always let them know that I've taken note of the mileage and that I expect the car to be in the same exact shape I left. Usually they get the idea.
Next time - let the Service Manager know that getting a car with 14 miles is unacceptable.
