oxygen sensor hitting bottom of car....
Trying to install test pipe with the speed element cel fix and my o2 sensor is making a bit of contact with the bottom of the car, not much but its touching. Im guessing this is probably not a good thing. My question is have any of you left the o2 like this and had it fail, should I even try?? Thanks.

"Don't let it touch nothing."
-This happened to me, and the end result, I was on the freeway and the car shut down out of no-where. Going into a turn. The O2 sensor shorted a fuse that shut down the car. Replaced the fuse, taped up the wires and made sure the weren't touching nothing, and I was back on my way.

Before installing the test pipe I had I looked at it a little closer and realized that the flanges are not flat. I got this used when I bought my HKS carbon ti used. So, I did not install this. I did call speed element and spoke with Calvin, he informed me that I may need to use a rubber mallet to make room for the o2 sensor. I will now just save and wait til I can afford a downpipe and new test pipe.
my sensor is at the base of the downpipe, so I imagine that would tap up under the center console? I think Ill just get the bung offset like 10 degrees to the side. (11 o'clock position).

This is why it is better to install a quality, properly designed aftermarket part, that you don't have to get "ghetto" with.

Just do it.
hammer some space for the O2 sensor and just spray some underbody coating on it so it won't rust.
I did it and no problems, over 40K miles on the cel fix. I hardly see the dent inside or under. Or take the other advice and spend more money. Your choice.

My mechanical CEL fix from speed element comes out of my Buschur HFC pipe parallel to the ground on the right side of the car. I didn't have to touch anything. Can't the pipe be rotated a bit?
sure the pipe can be rotated, cut the welds and reweld when its .... be easier to put a new bung in. muffler shop will do it for nothing if you bring him donuts.
that would be the answer for the persnickity

Just to clarify, YESH, is your O2 sensor located in the DP or the Test Pipe? I would just get a new O2 weld bung and have it welded onto the TP(or DP) at a 10 or 2 o'clock position. Then just get a threaded plug for the existing, improperly clocked bung.
