Hey guys. Before all the forum ***** come out and ask why I didn't search blah blah blah, let me say that I DID search. I'd like to get some "new" input on this subject. Besides, there are tons of people joining the forum every single day that might like to add to it.

Anyway, this coming week me and my girfriend are getting some mountain bikes.
Roof rack would be nice, but besides the price, having two bikes hovering over my aluminum roof wouldn't make me feel very comfortable if you get my drift.
So im left with the trunk rack option. Now I do still have my wing in the back and I don't plan taking it off so I'd like to work around it.
Does anyone know of ANY good trunk rack the "safely" will hold 2 bikes on the back of our evos?

Any info would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks

 

you do realize that if you get the yakima roof rack it doesnt touch the aluminum roof that you are so worried about? I chose it instead of the strap/hook style that puts stress on the aluminum trunk.

 

Just use the wing. Mitsubishi swears it's functional. You might as well make that a true statement.

 

slowboy racing makes a hitch for the evo. I have it and it has worked flawlessly even pulling a trailer! Just picked up a Thule hitch bike rack and am going to try to ride today. Just to give you a idea. No part of this setup touches the car in any way
except the hitch of course! No damage to the trunk or roof!!!!

 

Go with hitch rack. There are several people who make custom hitches for Evo, like slowboy and rallytrak.
