I am super happy with my IX but reading all these threads makes it difficult to keep it stock! We'll see for how long.....

Be very careful with a warranty. The dealer complaint about a boost gauge and larger than stock downpipe gasket..basically trying to void it for no reason.

i think you will like the evo! it is a fast stock car and it take mods well a stock 98 se twin turbo supra last year made has the same specs as the 350z 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile so stock vs stock the evo is faster then the supra plus i just love the way the evo drives you just have to drive it first then you will see! yes i have been in a supra with a few light mods on it and tuned it was ok the car starts to pull hard around 3rd 4th and up! with the same mods as the supra tbe drop in filter tune the evo would def pull harder 1st,2nd,3rd then the supra starts to shine in its 4th 5th 6th gears it just doesnt have that kick you in the *** like the evo does at low gears!!! sry just had to get that out

well i been DD my evo since i got it in July and overall i think its sux in the gas mileage dept. unless u stay out of the boost then its ok. low end power blows until u hit boost during normal driving conditions. (hell my friends mazda 3 also stick is faster than me both of us leaving at a light nice and easy until boost slams me to the seat and leaves my friend breathing smoke LOL).

In the autox/track/drag dept. its awesome. Hell my first time out autox'ing it i took first in the newbie class on my first run, i was stock back then. (i wasn't the only awd turbo car in that class so it wasn't cause i was flat out faster lol. there was another evo and a sti)

Seeing how you already have a single turbo beast, I would deff get the Evo. Kinda hard to cram a couple friends in the back seat of the Mk4 and drive it in the snow

Since when are 6 speeds blowing up or failing prematurely from autox? The answer is they're not.

The Evo will probably be more fun DD (at least from what i've seen). They have better mid-range than even a stock Supra. This is just my experience coming from messing around with my buddy's stock TT supra. Also it will be a lot more practical. I had a turbo 240sx before and I honestly I found that car more fun, but the speed and having back seat makes it more than worth it.

an evo in stock form wont even need a warranty nor will you want a dealer to perform the work anyways- but even in its stock form to keep it running in perfect mechanical order is alot of maitenance- i changed tranny and front and rear diff fluid every 10k only use OEM fluid, spark plugs with iridium every 15k mobil 1 extended perf only every 5k, oem oil filters only, clean maf every 10k and seafoam every 10k, tighten hose clamps every 5k or replace for t-bolts (may void warranty), change pads and rotors at around 25k (stock rotors will be warped at 10k tho if your lucky)

I was kind of thinking the back seat would be nice as a supra has no room in the back and the AWD would make a nice drive in the rain and light snow. Plus, I thought the power would be nice!

I enjoy my IX SE much more as a DD than my 06 350Z. My dad has a stock '98 TT Supra and its definetely more of a weekend driver than a daily driver. Stock to stock I'm pretty sure the Evo would take the Supra in a straight line, and then humiliate it through the corners. I like both of them but they drive very differently from eachother.

stock supras pulled somewhere in the neighborhood of 9.5g on the skidpad and at the time had the best 100-0 times of any sports car.
