anyone know what the correct part # is for an oil filter for 2006 IX MR?

some say its "MZ690072", others say "MZ690116".

if u got to the dealer look at it. it should be the flat wide one not the tall skinny one.

 

MZ690072- TALL AND SKINNY"technician term"

MZ690116-SHORT AND FAT "technician term"

SAME "O-RING/SEAL" DIFFERENT CLEARENCES

only different ones are the "BB" or "1090" mopar filters

in evos we usually and most of the time is "116"

 

also make sure u get the washer for the drain plug

MD050317-drain plug gasket

 

thread hijack but does anyone else's dealer give them the drain plug gasket with there filter cause mine here in daytona does but back home in NJ they never do unless i ask

 

ok, i got to the bottom of this - spoke to several dealers in various states (i have free long distance )
for a 2006 EVO, the P/N are:
The filter is: MZ690116, and the drain plug gasket is: MD050317
(whenever you see 'MD', thats a ref to euro spec P/N, while 'MZ' is US designation. the parts are ideantical, just diff label)

 

reason why u prolly live in florida and left jersey...they would do that here in jersey...or they would charge u for the gasket i wana move to florida...sick and tired of jersey...

mitsubishi only uses 2 different filters. so it shouldnt be that hard getting the right one lol. with the exeption of the super huge filter they have.
