Wing Broke?
Hey Guys,
I had a snow plow hit my parked Evo a month ago. They chiped the side of my wing and broke it loose somehow, because now the whole wing moves side to side. The wing is no longer stable. Luckily the snow plow company paid for a new wing, however I think the autobody place ripped me off. I think they used bondo to fix the chip, but charged me for a whole new wing ($1630). The wing is still really flimsy like it was and I was wondering if they could have really used bondo or something similar to fix this? Does the wing come apart in three pieces, because on both sides where the carbon fiber piece meets, it doesn't seem connected tight anymore and the two side pieces move side to side really easy. What do you guys think?

By "flimsy" I assume you mean it's still lose and moves from side to side? If that's the case I would go back to the bodyshop and have them look at it again before it somehow messes up your trunk. On a side note, if the snow plow company paid you for a new wing why did you go to a body shop? Since you didn't have to pay anything I'd rather go to a dealership and asked for a new one altogether instead of "fix" the broken one.
I guess I'll have to go back in. I was just wondering if anyone has taken their wing apart and had some input into why my wing would still be really loose. I still think they scammed me and just fixed my old one. As for why I didn't just take the money and do what I wanted with it, their was a lot more damage involved then just my wing. The snow plow smashed in my bumper, broke my taillight, etc... I didn't mention it because that wasn't my current issue. The total bill was like 4k.

Not sure about this particular situation, but some insurance companies just make out the check directly to the repair shop and not the insurer. But go with Nationwide and that won't happen!
