The only damage you've posted a pic of was of front end damage to your car. That's what makes me think that he hit you in the front as you changed lanes and "undercut" him.

I had the front of my car "Peeled" off as well. I had to replace my intercooler (Buschur), get a new headlight, bumper, P/S pump and turbo (long story with the turbo) and body work for the fender and hood were required.

Without the turbo, I was $2k cash all in. I didn't have the mechnaical issues you have stated, outside the pump and turbo, but hopefully it looks worse than it is.

Good luck.

By the way, in my case it was not another car... The guard rail at Le Cirque Tremblant chased me down the track until it finally got me - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Before anyone asks about insurance coverage, as I was in a foreign country and on a surface designed for racing, no need as I paid cash to fix.

This guy came out of no were, I havent been in any accidents prior to this so I was in complete shock. His car must have been in a blind spot caused by that cement berrier or support cause I never saw him. As for the damnage I am fine my car on the other hand is pretty bad, whole front bumper got pealed off intercooler end tank is broken, fender is crushed in, headlight is no were to be found, ACD pump took a pretty good beating and is leaking fluid some lines are broke off. Tie rob was broke too so I couldnt turn the wheel, suspension looks a little tweeked too this is all I could see. Im sure once the wheel comes off there will be more damage. I have no idea if they will total the car, but I hope not. Worst feeling in the world when something like this happens. I just hope I can have it back to normal in a timely manner.

First ones allways the worst, least the cars not too bad off and your ok.
And from the picture you posted they wont total it out, but it will cost alot to repair, rates will go up + down time will suck, but she'll be good as new when you get it back.

Well it came down to no ones fault due to the fact that even though he hit me i still entered his lane but due to fact they believe he was speeding each party is going to pay for their own damages. ****ty part is my car is wayy worse then his. But He was also driving a Mercedez benz S430 and had damage to both front and rear doors and slight fender damage so it may be close. My car went to the shop late last night, its going to cost in the ball park of about 10k or better. I should know the exact damage cost by tomorrow or thursday when the clams adjuster looks over the car.

Heres a pic from it at the shop. Once the snow melted we were able to get a better look at the damage and open the hood so far it looks like this...

-Hood
-Front bumper
-Intercooler and pipes
-Both fenders
-Driver light
-Radiator support/crash beam
-Tie rod
-Wheel bearing/ hub assembly
-ACD pump, lines. resivor
-Possibly radiator
-Fan
-Inner fender covers
-Random broken wiring harnesses

Thats all we could see without removing the wheel no telling how bad the suspension compents are or if the axle needs replaced as well.
