Word of advice, if your losing control don't let your foot off the gas. Steer in the direction you want to go and it will correct itself. You have to learn how to drive awd. Letting off the gas gives you no control at all.

I did the same thing last night coming off a ramp, i almost didnt recover and almost hit the guard rail. Then end result was me facing incoming traffic luckily it was late and nobody was coming in my lane. (also going about 30mph on summer tires)

Couldn't have said it better myself.

was it a Brian Spilmer type of control loss? Still laugh my a** off everytime I see that movie, such a horrible horrible film. Anyways back on topic. Getting slideways in the Evo is uber fun esp when you just bought new tires and are trying to burn through your old ones

If someone can afford $30,000 for an Evo I don't understand why they don't spend $800 (that's 2.6% of the purchase price) on a decent set of snow tires if they live where it snows. It's a small price to pay to keep your Evo "protected". I know I bring up the insurance issue a lot, but I think snow tires would save a lot of Evos from heading to the scrap heap and help keep ALL Evo drivers' insurance rates lower because there would be much less Evo accidents in the winter.
