Well guys, I have been looking at getting a new car for a whlie.
I was looking for an Evo 9, But I think an Sti would be better for me right now. Here's the one I might go pickup today. What do you guys think? http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=31

Find a SE and be done with it.(has everything you will ever need stock)

The STI down the line will cost most build and to deal with since it is a flat-4 boxer engine, roughly $2000 to drop the engine and they use an aluminum box which is not as strong or simple as a evo's Inline-4 cast iron block.

I would suggest driving a full bolt on STi before you buy one, i put my friends sti together FPgreen, Meth, Full bolt on, Tune and was not impressed with the off throttle characteristics, the gas mileage or just about anything compared to my full bolt on, stock turbo, meth, evo.

Get a low mileage IX. Have it properly inspected before u purchase it. Or buy an 07 sti. It has longer gears than previous models. Good luck.

I do like Boxer engines, and the STI is a great car. Simply be aware, you will never be able to get as much power out of it safely as a 4G63. Our engine is simply known for having a little money input with great output. Boxers are a lot of work above 400 WHP, but the STI does have a nice tranny. I think they're great vehicles, but don't expect 600 WHP by slapping on a GT35R anytime soon.

What would the Subie guys think about this decision?

Why do you think there are so many STi's for sale with low miles? MAny people regret buying them. I had one, and have owned 2 EVO's since and would never look back.

It's nice. I would like an '07 in white, but then I realize that it's an STi, and to even get 350whp out of one is a pain. Unless you got money.

I might get one for my wife and just keep it stock.
