Help me i dont know what to do.

i am a 20 yr old college student and i recently just bought a 2005 evo 8 from glendale mitsubishi in california. I reside in the san fernando valley, and basically my parents arent gonna help me out any more SO i need to trade in my evo unfortunately. its still on warranty and has about 25500 miles on it. i have only made one payment on it, and i really hate to trade it in. So can i trade it in to anyother dealer, will i get anything for it, and whats a car i can get used that has good mpg. i can only afford around $250 max a month for payments.

Funny I had a buddy that was in the same sort of situation. You should be able to trade in your VIII just about anywhere and can probably get some decent money for it. I'd say maybe $18-20K. My buddy had an STI that he couldn't afford and he traded it for a Mazdaspeed 3, which is way cheaper than an Evo. Still has a turbo and is a decently fun car and he normally gets 28mpg if he keeps his foot out of it. Just a thought, good luck.

Whats the payoff on your Evo? I hope you don't owe more then its worth. I would check the payoff then check what the value is for your year, condition, and mileage on KBB.com

I don't think that the difference (if any in either direction) would be huge. It seems like he's only had it for a short time, as he said he has only made one payment so far (though it's unclear if he means that there has only been one payment made total or if it's only one payment that he himself has made on it while prior ones may have been by his parents), so its value wouldn't have dropped drastically.

That's unfortunate for you, man. If you can only do ~$250 per month, then you'd better have a lot of money for a down payment or buy something VERY inexpensive, as $250 per month over a 60-month financing period with no money down would get you a $13k car (sale price, before applicable fees) at best... and for that kind of a car (probably quite used), a 60-month financing period might be out of the question anyway.

You can buy a Honda Fit for around $250/month. I don't think that will be enough for a Civic but I could be wrong. They both get great gas mileage and being Honda's they will hold there value well.

I would look into getting something used. Maybe a used wrx. If you just want a set of wheels to get you around then I would just get a civic.

+1, or try to refinance etc. Once u sell the EVO, u will miss it too much. Try everything to keep it, besides u will get screwed on the trade in anyways.

for that car, in good condition, you could streetsell for $20-23k. dealer will get you 18-19k, 20k if they are really cool. good luck! i know because i shopped it around. i decided to keep my evo, cause a bmw is just boring. i would buy a beater first and stack dough. LOL. i should listen to my own advice. $250 a month is (depending on rate), is about a $10,000 car. good luck!

Sell it dont trade it.

A used MazdaSpeed3 under 20k would be a nice choice. It can do the 60 in the mid/high 5s.
But u gotta remember its a fwd and its a hatch lol

$250 a month? do u live by yourself?

You are better off selling it privately so you get more money back than what the dealer would give you. As for $250 a month, you are not going to get by with a very nice car with that. My advice either lease a car for a year and wait till things get better or buy a beater so you don't have to make monthly payments.
