Seibon CF

Hey just wanted to get some opinions out there. From what I've read Seibon Carbon Fiber seems to be crap. In other words alot of people are having problems with fade and maybe some other issues.

Wondering if the Dry Cf is the way to go vs wet? Or which combination is best Carbon Fiber reinforced Plastic or Fiber Reinforced plastic or the Kevlar?

From what I've read Dry Carbon Fiber is the way to go. Next I'm in the market for a Carbon Fiber hood, just dont know which one to go with. I'm looking for the lightest and longest lasting and one thats affordable?

Thanks for your time.

I have a Seibon CF hood and its all cracked up. I wouldnt recommend it.

You doing CF for the look or what? Its not going to be any lighter than your current hood.

+1 on CF being heavier than stock hood.

Buschur Racing: "Our stock hood weighed 20.2 lbs. and the carbon fiber hood that we purchased but never installed was 21.6 lbs."

Actually I nailed something on the freeway add it left a 3" gash. But other wise i've always be a fan of the look of it. Also 1 pound difference doesn't bother me.

I was hoping someone knows something about the materials I described.

I have a seibon cf hood that is not even a year old and its starting to bubble up around the vent.

Affordable and high quality just don't got together when talking about cf.

I would just get the hood re-painted. Clear-coated flat black looks badass.

Hey CGK,

Thats not a bad Idea. Flat black is not a bad option. Stay light while getting the appearance of the carbon look. Probably cheaper to.

Good suggestion.

I've also been looking for a company that makes the Dry Carbon Fiber, but no luck so far. Maybe some vendors can jump in on this.
