That is a fairly complicated TSB, so be aware of that. It requires accessing the AC airbox by removing alot of dash. A serious pain. (seriously). I would check if the dealer will perform the TSB, and if it is applicable to your vin number. If not check the cables behind your HVAC console to see if they are binding. Disconnect them from the airbox and physically actuate the lever on the airbox to see if it is a smooth fluid motion. It will be a little "clicky" or "notchy". Check if there are any tight bends in the cables or any sharp turns, re-route the cable if needed. if that doesnt work, then yeah, its TSB performing time....

Side note: If you have an Orbital, you will need to trim some metal from the left radio console support bracket to route the cable through that. This only applies to some models (my 06 MR for instance).

As for the button pressing, Take out the HVAC and check that the rubber button seats are in good condition, replace if needed, apply some electrical contact cleaner on the contact pads and let dry and re-install. If that doesnt work, connect it to the car but leave the console physically unconnected (just harnesses on). Now try it, does it work?? If you apply pressure to the underside of the HVAC console box sometimes it will cause the buttons to stick and become inconsistant.

Any questions just pm me, I know alot about the HVAC system in the evos.

Did you perhaps choose an unnecessary path for your cables? My 06 MR required no cutting and I have smooth/full functionality from my a/c controls. Of course without knowing exactly what you're referring to and looking at my car I can't know if we do in fact have different dash frames.
