heat knob problem

heat knob problem

when i try to turn the knob to the heat side it just springs back to the cold air side. anyone know how to fix this? its annoying that i cant even get warm air on a cold day.

There is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) that is similar to this. It deals with difficulty turning the heater control knob. If you look on Alldata.com you should be able to find it.

Interesting.. I don't have that problem, but one annoying thing on my evo is that when I press the rear defroster button, I have to hit it like at least 3 times before it turns on. Kinda annoying.

thnx but does it cost money lol stupid question but i dont have warrenty nomore and i need to trade my car in because im having to many problems.

If you don't have a warranty then it will be up to the dealership if they want to cover it. Even if you do have a warranty a TSB isn't a guaranteed dealership coverage.

alright thanks ill go check with my dealer. if they dont cover it do you have any guess as to how much it would cost?? prob not worth it IMO

Get with Russell to give you a quote on the replacement parts. If I were you I would just purchase the parts and fix it myself, that is if the dealership won't cover it under warranty. I'm sure it can't be that difficult. I've always believed if I could turn a wrench or a screwdriver then I could fix it.

I think mine is on the verge. It take me turning it all the way one way then all the way back the other to get it to stay. It will proly crap out all the way soon.
