Damage Assessment?

i ran over a huge rock on the freeway an hour ago! i was so pissed! i was in the fastlane and i notice a HUGE rock (must've been two feet long and almost a foot thick) in the lane to my right. then i look ahead and see a smaller rock (compared to the first rock) in my lane! i couldn't swerve to the left because i would've hit dirt/gravel and most likely spun out and i couldn't swerve the right because of the bigger rock. i hoped i would clear the rock if i drove directly over it, but i heard a loud bang. i felt the car jump up; it even made my rear view mirror point downwards. i pulled over thinking that the rock smashed into my front lip/bumper and AMS FMIC. there was no damage to my lip or fmic, but my control arm braces were ****ed! 5 minutes later the CHP blocked off the traffic to move the rocks. too bad i already ran one over. i took some pictures of the damages that i've seen so far and i'm hoping they're just cosmetic. thankfully the rock missed my downpipe, hard lines, and my rear lsd! i was pissed at first, but then i realized that it could've been a lot worse. here are the pictures of the damages.

control arm braces and front tow hook thingy.

not sure what this is, but it's located directly behind the front control arm brace.

dented a couple other things.

is there anything i should be worried about from these damages?

It looks like it missed all the vital parts. I hate it when there is road debris and you can't avoid it. All you can do is tense up for the impact and hope it doesn't do any serious damage.

Damn that sucks man. I'm glad I didn't have to go anywhere near there today. Haha, I bet that wrecked evo is just a shell now, even the chassis is worth something, if it's not too banged up. Good luck dude

Look on the bright side, like others have said, you missed the vital parts... I ran over what looked like a piece of cloth on the road, but turned out to be a chunk of metal that ripped out my fuel line and cut up my brake fluid line, and ripped up a bunch of other stuff... To this day I swerve to miss little teenie things in the road, and if no one is behind me I slow way down if I can't avoid it and wait till there is room to avoid it (this is usually on local roads, the freeway its a bit harder not to have anyone behind you)

You should be ok. See if the state will re-emburse any damages, sometimes that works for road debris.

Just be glad that rock missed your oil filter, now that would have been costly if you didnt shut the engine down right away...

yeah at first i was pissed and thought i had the worst luck, but when i got home and jacked up the car i realized that it could've been WAY worse. i'll try bending the control arm braces back to normal, but they seem very sturdy.

who would i talk to about finding out if the state will reimburse me for any damages? the pictures should be sufficient evidence for the damages and i could talk to the CHP to prove that there was in fact large rocks on the road since they were called to remove it.

Unavoidable road hazard. Shouldn't be too difficult to fix/replace.
