Power Steering Help!

Ok, so I just got my car finished after working on it for about 2 months. Wekk when I fired it up, everything sounds great besides the Power Steering is making a LOUD whining, and fluid is pouring out of where the line with the single bolts is at! Im pretty sure its the return line that is hooked to the resevoir! When I pullud the line off, the inside is stepped like there should be an o-ring in there or something, but nothings in there and it is just draining fluid! So is there supposed to be an o-ring in there, or what is causing it to whine and pour fluid out? Thanks!

The whining sound is the power stearing straing to push the fluid through it.

I have a similar issue but it's not as bad as yours. Mine takes some time before it starts to make that whining sound. I just refill it with more fluid and it keeps for some time. I will take it in soon though to get the problem fixed.

no, its the stock power steering pump. We had to take it off in order to take the motor mount off. And after we put it all back on, for some reason it started leaking really bad out of where the return line hooks in, and making a bad whining noise. It was working perfectly fine before though.

If its the pressure return line going into the resevoir, then yes you need an o-ring in there. Get one in there quick before you burn out the steering pump and cause more damage.

thats what i figured! thank you for your comment! it only ran for maybe 3-4 mins tops, and maybe 6 full revolutions of the steering wheel, and there is still plenty of fluid in there so it shouldnt have hurt the pump! is the whine just the pump trying to shove the fluids back through all the lines that have drained?
