QUOTE=evoPirate;5383045]skip the intercooler pipes, stock will be fine for qute a while, you're just buying bling really. also skip the UK badge, thats money that can be spent on go-fast. the BOV.....thats a tough one, the plastic 03 DOES suck *****.

If it was me, and my 2000$-

10.5 hotside from the for sale forums (1-200$)
C A M S !!!! one of the biggest mods you'll make until you upgrade turbo
UNOS MBC like Warr said
the HKS exhaust you're getting a steal on
the coilovers, again since you're getting a deal
drop-in air filter OR the Buschur intake kit
the MR BOV or a IX BOV, same diff (get it used on the forums here for cheap)
send your exhaust mani, 02 housing, and intake mani/throttle body to Buschur for the coating/porting.
And of course....the TUNE!

IMO, with these mods, you'll go quite a long ways! Heck with the right tune/gas, you could be closing in on the 350-375whp mark for probably less then 2000$! Again, take your time, be patient and surf the Private For Sale forum on this site, you'll come up with a ton of great deals. Bling factor stuff (IC pipes, badges...) bah, you're driving a MITSUBISHI EVO!!! You're already blingin!! Just think back to say....99 or 00 when we were all just playing Gran Turismo dreaming about the chance to own an EVO. The car speaks for itself image wise, upgrade what counts [/QUOTE]

^^^Agreed^^^

+1 on clutch

5 years of results on Evos in the US say otherwise. It is _a_ restriction, but it is by no means "urgent" nor should it be considered the the most important mod on an Evo like you suggested. It is a good mod, but most LICPs out there do not even remove the restriction you talk about. The comprssor outlet pipe stays the same, and you use a reducer to connect the small pipe to the fatter aftermarket pipe - that restriction remains. The Buschur LICP for VIIIs does replace the compressor outlet pipe, but that pipe is still much smaller than the size of the LICP itself. Also, on all IXs, the compressor outlet pipe is different than on VIIIs, so each vendor just mates their LICP up to that outlet pipe and then connects to it with a reducer.

Better than stock, yes, but minimal difference in power/spool - nothing you'd notice on the stock turbo.

so by your theory the licp could be the same size as the compressor outlit and have as many bends in it as someone feels fit to put in and it would make no difference? Just because there are restrictions in the system doesn't mean that removing other restrictions will not help. The biggest restriction should be the turbo itself, everything else should be free flowing. this knowledge has been around for ever, come on.
