I'll try to help you out whenever you need it, not that I'm much help! I hate it too when you ask a question, and you get flamed for not searching well enough, or being a noob, or whatever. I didn't know you had traded in an RA for your evo. Congrats, and hopefully see you at the bbq!

Thanks man

Since I had been looking in to doing so many things to the RA, I ended up learning a bit which helps. I've also read books like "maximum boost" which is nice for clearing up some of the more basic questions. I haven't had too many issues getting help yet, I think its mostly because I let people know up front that I need help and appreciate input. The impression I get from a lot of people around here is if you act like you know what you are talking about when you really don't, you'll get your pants handed to you. Other than that, just some snootiness thats easy enough to ignore. The Utah evo scene seems pretty busy. I look forward to meeting you guys. Don't know of too many RA's toolin' around town but I've seen a few. Even fewer on the boards - I think like 3 guys including myself.

I am here. But not too many others with RA in Utah who visit the board. Booze, I want a ride in your Evo sometime. What is this BBQ and are RA invited?

SLC, I don't see why RA's couldn't show up, if you can make it you should man! All the guys on that thread/in this area seem pretty chill. I just don't have any info on when the BBQ is. Check the Evo's in utah thread, thats where the talk of it is mostly cropping up:

I'll post some better pics of the nose when it gets cleaned up and I can find a place to take some decent shots.

Yeah, I was confused about that too, apparently it is a slightly more HP lancer. I think it goes Lancer---Lancer OZ?---Lancer RA--- Lancer EVO? Or is the OZ and RA the same, because it says OZ Rally or something. Theres a bunch of those OZ's in Jacksonville. I never owned a traditional lancer, but I frequently check out their "How-to" and "Shown'Shine" threads to see if there are any ideas I can steal for my car . Congrats on the purchase, the car will grow on you more and more. When I first got it home all I could think was "Why did I buy this ugly thing??" (because they are ugly, they really are) but more and more I like it.

base lancer and OZ share the same motor, RA has a 2.4 ltr SOHC mivec motor. for its class, its a great performer. it often gets confused with the OZ, but it offers a bit more power, and I preferred the look of the RA to its other NA siblings. it also responded to boost a bit better than the standard na 2.0.
