Going to the Track Friday

(No childish replies please)

I'm heading up to the track on Friday for the first time in the Evo, Ive been a couple times in my old car though so Im not a complete N00B.

I was wondering (and dont even lie saying it came ready to track) what mods I should throw together or DIY up before then for ultimate cooling and performance. I know I want to get a radiator shroud soon, but for a little POS piece of metal 100$ is absurd...Im probably going to wrap my downpipe as well in to lower my oil temp, and hopes of lowering the temp of my T-case, as I have a 6speed which are infamous for 4th gear failures..

Does the Evo have a stock tow hook? whats the deal with that.

Im running stock tires on my stock BBS wheels, what pressure should i fill them up to before heading out to the track the night before?

Thanks in advance

I know a few things for sure...

1. I'm not riding in your car unless you have all of your lugs torqued to spec and ON the car...
2. Make sure the oil is filled, and bring extra...you may burn some.
3. Check tire pressures (you have that covered).
4. Check all of the critical bolts on your car to make sure they are torqued down.
5. Charge your camera and buy some painters tape! Get ready to have some fun!!

Check tire pressure at the track, not the night before. And probably have have at 32 psi cold drivers side, and 33 psi passenger side. Lugs torqued at about 80. Check your brake fluid, bleed your breakes, maybe put some Motul in, the first thing I would do (have experience boiling my fluid) and change pads too. Check all fluids, tighten everything up, make sure no leaks

On a side note change your plugs before going and when you get back home.

1. I'd bleed out the stock brake fluid and put in Motul RBF 600 or ATE Superblue. Usually motor cycle shops carry Motul locally as a lot of bikes use it. If nothing else bleed you brakes with standard auto store fluid. Boiling the fluid from moisture stored in the lines over time is the #1 problem for 1st time trackers in my experience.

2. Make sure you have oil, even throw in 1/4 qrt extra. Lots of track guys run a touch more to be safe.

3. Be sure you have good gas, maybe a little race gas mix to be on the safe side if you have an aftermarket tune.

4. Take all the loose crap out of your car.

Do you guys think its necessary to replace brake fluids or anything of the sort? I only have 2400 miles on the car.
