Options for blown tcase

I'm at 62K miles and my tcase, I believe, is blown. I've acquired a new whine in my car and even my gears are starting to grind. I plan on getting a new one from Shep but need to be 100% sure that it's my tcase that's going.
Is there some place I can take my car to get it properly diagnosed?

Best of luck with your transfer case. I would like to politely make you aware that you actually posted this thread in the X forum and it would be better served in the I - IX forums as per this thread:

Had this memorandum not been set forth on this forum, I may have made a less cordial response but I do truly wish you the best of luck with your drivetrain issue and hope it is resolved in an expedient, inexpensive manner.

So besides people telling me I posted in the wrong forum and people laughing about how I posted in the wrong forum, there is no input?

Unfortunatly the whine sounds like a bad Tcase, as they get loud when they are failing.

Shep has a few options for the tcase, some with upgraded bolts to prevent deflection and different, although more expensive diff. upgrades.

here is the link to the tcases. I do not know if you will need a new one or if you can rebuild your blown one. EDIT: just read that it is 1200 dollars to replace the ring and pinion with bearings. this is found in the stage 1 upgrade.

http://www.sheptrans.com/catalog.php...at=EVO%20TCASE

let us know what you find, best of luck!

I'm actually just going to get a brand new stage 2 upgrade. But my question is, before I do that, where can I go to get my car checked out by a pro to make sure it's the tcase? I don't think any ol' car shop would cut it. And Mitsu doesn't even sound like a good idea considering that some dealers aren't even putting the right oil in the tcase(what I read from searching through other threads).
