Please Help Car Wont start after clutch pedal adjustment.

I adjusted my clutch pedal because after I installed my exedy triple plate I was having trouble getting into gears. so I raised my clutch pedal height and now the car wont start. It seems as if the car doesnt know if the clutch pedal is pushed in or not. I tried lowereing the clutch pedal some just to see if that was the problem and it still wouldnt start. any of ya'll know what this might be???

thanks,
John

Sounds like the clutch cancel switch is not being disengaged when you depress the clutch pedal or the connector somehow got knocked off it. Its hard to diagnose without being there. I can't think of anything else related.

yeah I was looking at the factory service manual and it sound like this is the case. I'll go out there and try and find this interlock switch and mess around with it some.

Yeah, it's really easy to bend. Same thing happened to me when I adjusted my pedal. Just bend it back so it's inline with the rubber thing on the pedal.

Now that you adjusted it back make sure that the clutch bracket that the pedal is on is clearing the starter bracket in the back... Its a common mistake and won't allow you to fully disengage the clutch.

Cheers!
