Battery removal help, quick!

Im trying to install the underhood shifter bushings, but I can't get the damn lower half of the battery tray off. I've removed all of the bolts, but there are some plastic pieces and wires from the battery stuck into one side of the tray. Anyone know how Im supposed to remove these without just ripping the wires off?

Thanks.

Just push the tray out of the way and hold it with your arm. That's what I did.

The cotter pins that hold them in? I used needle nose pliers.

Good luck getting the bushings out when you get to that point. I just kept pulling at them with pliers until they eventually came out.

Man up son! Just try to push them out with the needle nose pliers, thats what I did. Just dont yank on the shifter cables real hard so you dont bend them.

Do yourself a favor and use some bearing grease and lightly put them on the new bushings. I didn't do this and they siezed on me.

I don't have any special grease... Can I just use some vegetable oil or something?

I did the same, but then I got tired of holding it so I just wiggled out the wires attached.
