fix-it ticket

accidentally posted this first in the wrong forum, but anyway...

I got pulled over today, by a chick cop for my brand spanking new tint, 15% all around, but mostly because she thought it was limo tint. Does anyone know the rundown on fix-it tickets?

She said that i could just take off the tint and then get the stupid thing signed off, but i just about took it as an insult when she even suggested it.
Anyone know how much the fine would be if i just paid it without removing jack?

Im guessing a least a hundred dollars.I think you can have as dark of tint as you want in the back windows but I think the front windows have to be at least see through. If that is the case maybe you can get the front windows re-done with a lighter tint and save some money and not have to remove all of your window tint.

I got pulled over by a statie the other day... 27 in the rear, it's $250 per window in Mass, but he let the tint go with a warning.

Wrote me up for $100 for exhaust and gave another warning for tinted plate covers

I don't know how the cops are where you are but around here in good old Illinois (sarcasm), they love their tint violations. Its easier to get away with in the city, but I know in the smaller towns, such as where I am from, if they ticket you once and you do not get it fixed, they will stop you EVERY time they see you. I know guys who drive with it and roll the windows down as soon as they see a cop, but get pulled over anyway so the cop can verify if the tint has been removed. (They always say they pulled them over for a different reason and then ask to see their front wiindows) But, I don't know how CA is...here in IL ANY percentage of tint on the front windows is illegal.

In florida, when you go to pay off a fix-it ticket they are supposed to come out and look at the car and make sure you fixed it. They usually dont though and you just have to pay 5 or 6 bucks for a signature.

I got pulled over for the same thing. Unfortunately, I peeled it before realizing I could just pay the fine without removing the tint. In CA, no aftermarket tint is allowed on the front driver and passenger side windows, but you can have any level you want on the back 3. If I had left the front tint, it would have been a fix it ticket of about $240 I believe. Complete BS if you ask me, but noone did so I won't rant.
