Put your car in 5th gear (if you have a 5-speed) at about 40 mph. Hammer the accelerator, which will put the most load on your engine. If the rpms shoot up while the mph is not really changing...your clutch is going. You will know....

This was my original post that I moved from here to the Newbie forum:

Hey,

I just bought a used IX SE and LOVE this car! It is simply a factory bred race car right out of the box. Just really an amazing car all around. (this must be how a new Enzo owner feels)

Anyway, my only concern is now having driven it for a week I'm noticing that there is just a slight noise coming the clutch(?). It's just a faint sort of scraping noise that goes away when the clutch pedal is pushed all the way in.

It doesn't seem to be slipping at all but shifting the gears seems a bit notchy. Not grinding really but not really smooth.

Is this normal?

Any feedback appreciated......
