I just use a large pair of channel locks to get it off. Works every time. Or go buy a smalll oil filter wrench. I would change it though.

Nice analogy.

I'm going to try the K&N Brand next time.

It's been said many times... oil filter wrench ftw. I've actually seen a friend litterally destroy a K&N before. Next time don't tighten it so much. Hand tight works just fine for the kid. Try to use your hand as well with a towel wrapped around the filter. It helps a little.

Nice... I like that idea, but I wonder why evo9mr006 can't remove his oil filter. It either is screwed in too tight and he's either tighten it rather than loosen the filter. Not trying to say that you don't know how to remove oil filter or anything but sometimes it happens. Hope you're not offended man.

I had to stab mine with a screwdriver to get it off last time. I don't know why it was on there that tight, I dont remember screwing it on real tight. If you dont want to use the screwdriver method, squishing it with vice grips would probably work as well.

use the oil filter wrench, had to use one on my evo as well, problem is with different cars filter can be in a dumb spot....

try and fine the plyer oil wrench, not the one with that dumb handle that goes up and down and you have to bend it back so it grabs, those ar ejust dumb....

find the one like a huge plyer, but a small one that will fit around the filter, squeeze real tite so it bites into the oil filter like a soda can, and turn that sucker.o

or like they wer saying, punch a hole threw it with a screw driver and get a breaker bar on that sucker, theres no reason it wont come up......

more on lefty lucy, if the filter is on bottom of engine, punch hole on right side so handle is on driver side, this is if you are facing the car, and turn it towards you like tug of war, pull on that *****!!!

ok i talked enough, farewell!
