It will probably be fine, but make sure you change it next time. No matter what it takes

I'd feel better if it were replaced. I've gone 5K on same oil and filter with zero problems, but now I do religious 3k changes.

Lords3t, that's a pretty creative solution. I don't know why guys torque things down so much! The filter doesn't have to be that tight.

I guess if you left it on there already then you got no other choice but to change it next time. I know those oil filters can be a real pain to remove, one time I had to stick a screwdriver into it to drive it out. Thats why I have gone with K&N oil filters. They have a nut shape piece at the bottom of it so you can use your socket to remove it.

invest in oil filter pliers. 10 dollars at your local auto store.

This right here is the only reason I buy the K&N oil filters, so I can just drop a socket on the bottom of the filter.

Not our exact filter, but you get the point.

Oil filter wrench FTW.. There has been times where I have had to take channel locks to that sucker. It is going to get changed so you dont have to make it look pretty when it comes off. Screwdriver works well as stated above. But lesson learned is use the right tool for the right job.

Who put it on last? the hulk?

I just use a oil filter wrench - clamps on tight and takes 0 effort.

I would change it as soon as you can and next time i wouldnt put it on so tight. It doesnt need to be insanely tight.
