This seems like a relevant thread to post this, but I was filling up my Evo yesterday, and the stupid pump auto lock wasn't working right and I wasn't paying attention, it started overflowing all over the place, and now my Evo smells like gas...

I have an Evo IX and I believe it to be a 14 gallon tank.
Although I once filled up with 14.1 gallons.....granted the car nearly stalled as it bucked its way down the street into the gas station, lol.

I don't see why the light would come on if I still had 3+ more gallons to go...
Because manufacturers have to protect their cars from female drivers.

It's a 14 gallon tank people. Here is the full IX specification list from Mitsubishi's website before they replaced it with the X's stuff. I've also put in 13.7 gallons before. No doubt our cars are conservative as hell in terms of fuel remaining when the light comes on though. I know from experience I could easily do another 40 miles when the light comes on, but I still sweat ***** after 20 miles or so.
