Mucho Problemo

hi guys. I'll be installing my TBE when my testpipe comes (its on its way), but my problem is that I tried jacking my car up today, but my jack couldnt get the car high enough to put jackstands. Any ideas or suggestions on how to get the friggin thing up properly? Should I just get a set of ramps? Thanks in advance.

The obvious...buy a jack that can reach the level you need to put the jack stands under the car. Seriously, you may want to have someone else install the exhaust if you are having trouble jacking the car up

I already have a jack & stands. It worked perfect on my other car, but not so hot on the evo.

if your car still has stock suspension, then get a jack from sears or autoparts store. my car is lowered and i had to buy ramps, but got a good jack from sam's club.

Put some boards underneath your jack to make it end up at a higher point.

If your jack doesn't get high enough do as others have said and put a piece of wood (small 2x4) between the jack and the lift point. I do this to get my car up on my brute ramps sometimes if it is raining outside.

She hates the water

Just use ramps? If your worry about it scraping just put a 2x4 infront of the ramp and you should be fine. Then if you need room for the back just back up them. BUT if your having problems with the jack then mybe you shouldn't use ramps jk jk

i had a similar craftsman one, it was a piece of garbage. eventually the seals went on the hydraulic system, and it wouldn't get the car more than an inch lifted up.

do yourself a favor, and buy a quality mechanical "race" jack. i bought one from costco for $99. it's aluminum, and 4 - 5 pumps of the handle to full jack extension, and it has a plastic insert in the jack arm that doesn't dent up the pinch welds at the factory jack points on the side.
