Touch up paint info needed

Hey guys,

I have a Black EVO 9, and it has been scratched by some debris on the freeway. I tried looking for some sites for the touch up paint, but couldn't find any websites with the exact exterior color.

Anyways, any sites you would recommend, or some advice on how to patch up the scratches.

Thanks

A good way to blend the paint in, is to build up the coats until its slightly higher than the paint surface. Then use 2,000 grit sandpaper dipped in water and smooth out the touched up areas using very light hand pressure until they are about level with the surface. Then use some fine rubbing compound (3M is my favorite) and polish the area until it all looks the same. Follow it up with a good wax of your choice and it should be pretty hard to tell where the repair was done. I've used this method on all my cars and it seems to work fairly well. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice EVOSE06. Now I just need to find a site with the color I need. I wish it was easy as getting a black touch up paint. My car being Tarmac Black, I see most online store list Black, but listed for EVO 8. Im sure it should be the same, but I dont want to risk it, lol.

No problem, it helps when you've been detailing cars for 15 plus years. I know what you mean about the black color. I guess to be sure you can always go to your local dealer and get the paint code off of your car and then they can make sure you get the right one.

tried expresspaint.com? You just need your paint code.

forget about the pens, USELESS. I went with expresspaint.com and cant be happier. Just get your paint code, you can find it on you VIN Plate, I believe by the front driver door. For example, my MR is the SE which is the Labrador Black and the code is X42. I bought the small pint of paint and clear coat and will last you forever.

Thanks for the input guys, I bought the pen from lancershop. But I dont mind buying some more paint just to cover it up, just in case its wrong. But I will check the vin plate for the color code.
