so i found on ebay a generic turbo timer and a generic boost controller, together theyd be like 30 bucks shipped, should i not waste my money on these or would it not be a bad investment...? pretty much all timers do the same things, right?

Remember that you get what you pay for. Most ebay products are made in china and usually don't have the proper testing to verify if it works properly or not.I personally would just spend the extra cash and get a TT and a MBC from companies that you know and trust.

Most people on here that use MBC's usually go with a Hallman. They seem to be highly rated, I was planning on getting one when I do my tune.

TT aren't expensive to begin with, but I wouldn't risk it with electronics.

Have to agree.

Save your money on eBay parts that don't have direct implications of motors going boom (plenty out there).

Hallmans the best. If you can spend a little more get an EBC. Greddy has a good unit and can normally be found for under 300 dollars. As far as a TT goes Greddy yet again probably has the cheapest. My car came with a HKS TT, so I see no point in changing it.

get a hallman mbc. if money is a issue, you could always buy them used in the for sale section of the forum

looks like this guy is selling a hallman pro for $65 and its new https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=341373

Ultimate CC sells hallmans pretty cheap. i dont think ide be good to go ebay on the mbc, the boost probably would have alot of fluctuation in it. but as far as TT i dont see why not

IMO turbo timers are over rated; unless you mash down every street and pull into lot and park i see no need for it. I purchased and installed a turbo timer when I first got my EVO but I don't even use it. In regards to your post though, don't get the cheap ones from eBay, like someone stated before, they are made in china and have very little if any quality control inspections. Dejon tool MBCs work great BTW.

you gotta pay to play man and ebay is the anti-christ when it comes to part quality

the only thing i'll buy from ebay is name brand parts or, if i'm feeling real cheap, no-name piping (exhaust). you can't really go THAT wrong with ebay piping but boost controller? no lol
