Serious Evo woes!!

Hey guys... Im new around these forums, but have been the proud owner of an 04 Evo 8 RS for about 3 years now... So heres my long hearted serious problems-

(note- 2 weeks before this my turbo timer just upright stopped working. no powere to it whatsoever) so Im driving home about a week ago and all of a sudden the blinkers stop working(hazards still work tho)... Then about two days after that the dash gauges cut out... No fuel, speedo, tach and no blinkers now... So i trace it out to the fuse pannel under the dash, spot 2 7.5 amp fuse. I replace it and all is good for about 15 minutes , then no blinkers/guages... I replace the fuse again, and 5 minutes later it goes again.... So i then took all the guages out(A/F, water temp, oil pressure, boost/vacuum(the vac line is still hooked, just no power or ground to the gauge), and took the turbo timer completely out)

So replaced the fuse again, and 2 minutes later, it goes out....

****, so i take a couple of days to think, and then my dvd player when turned up to 20dbs it cuts off and then turns back on, and keeps doing that untill you turn the volume down... Ok great... Then the very next day the darn thing just is a consistant off and on, no matter what the volume.....

Then the next day my car starts to idle all over the place out of nowhere, from about 500 to about 1400(if i had to guess, remember i have no dash gauges)... Fin great.. So on the way home from that the car once reaches 15psi just looses throttle and is a consistant backfire until you take your foot off the gas... up untill 15 psi is as normal(plus the weird idle) but the throttle cuts out at 15psi and up...
And to add to that, i went to start the thing today after not driving it for a day, and it wont start. sounds like the batterys dead but i know its not..
what the hell is going on here? Heres the specs on the car-

stock block
upgraded syncros/gears on trans
stage 3 twin disc clutch
AEM intake
Aem upper&lower intake piping
GReddy BOV(not recirculated)
Hallman pro boost controller
upgraded 20g 10.0 hotside turbo
full 3" turbo back exhaust with test pipe.. (check engine light was on for the o2 sensor after the cat)
cross drilled rotors f/r
hawk pads f/r
Viper alarm
In dash DVD player

And to note, i take very good care of the car, its got just about 30K miles on it, i change the oil every 2500 miles, and ive done every possible upkeep the car ever needed..
I tried pulling codes but the scanner i have crapped out.. Ill be gettin a new one tomarrow.. But im lost...
Anyone have any ideas

trace all the wired you have touched from installing stuff, turbo timer ect..... maybe a wire is grounding out or maybe a loose ground.

I cetainly second what KcEvil8 thinks it is. Seems to be a a really annoying problem on Evos. Would def check that out on your car.

you have a short somewhere b/c you keep popping fuses. Its called a short to ground. It can be a stripped wire from your electronics. Check all your wires and make sure they're not stripped or frayed or making contact with a ground somewhere.

Also be sure to check any wires that you are running through your firewall. Those grommets that you run the wires through have a tendency to fall off. Once those grommets fall out the metal can slice into the wires due to vibrations, tension, and movement.

Make sure to check the underhood fuse box. Make sure the wires running in there are connected good and tight. Hope this helps

Im pretty sure its the wiring b/c your problem is intermittent.

sounds like a ground and also since you might not be recirqing your bov could cause some eratic rpm changes.

Yup its highly likely that you problem lies in the Electrical connectors in your Drivers kick panel. Follow my links in the thread that KcEVIL8 posted and you should be able to fix it easily.

PM me if you need assistance also in NJ

hey guys. I UNHOOKED all the aftermarket stuff i installed(electronic wise)..

Ive heard something about the o2 sensor grounding out and reaking havoc on these cars... Like i said its a test pipe instead of the cat.... So im thinking it might be that.. I have to crawl under and find out...

Also im well aware about the car ideling funny with the bov aspirated into the air, but this was way beyond that... Im talking like its gonna stall to 14-1500rpm. the bov usually just bogged the idel down once in a while when i came to a stop, but never in over 2 years, was it like this...

And if anyone is willing to help, Ill throw up the beer/pizza card for this weekend if anyone is interested... its 137 on the GSP.. thanks guys...

I had a problem similar to this years ago. It turned out to be my rear o2 sensor wire. I had made an anti-fouler to fool the o2 sensor but the fouler was too long and it made my wires rub against the chassis.

There is a thread somewhere that talks about the VIII's getting condensation/water, etc in the kickpanel where the ecu is hooked up that makes totally weird ish like this happen. I posted about it in the threads I just dont have time to go through each of my posts. As mentioned before I think that this is the culprit....
