I am not sure about other states specific laws, however after receiving a ticket for no front plate, I learned that it is in fact completely legal to simply display your plate on the dash while parked. This is in Illinois, specifically my suburb which is hell on Earth for stupid technicallity citations and I would venture a guess that your local laws are not as harsh... The citation read "FRONT PLATE NOT DISPLAYED ON BUMPER OR DASH". Screw the front mount, just throw it up there when you park!

I don't run a front plate in NY, where it's mandatory. My only suggestion is to find a sympathetic shop for an inspection. If you know other high-performance guys in your area, ask them which shop they use.

I don't have my front plate on either. The plate bracket sticks out like a sore thumb and makes the front end like hideous.

When I was passing inspection I just used zip ties and mounted it on nose of the front bumper (right above the FMIC). I made sure to tape a piece of cloth behind the plate so it wouldn't rub and scratch the bumper. The funny this is, the plate actually looked like it belonged there! Needless to say, I passed through inspection with no problems and cut the zip ties off as soon as I got home!

I live in Ashburn and mine didn't come with a front license plate, and I passed inspection the second time I took it. I didn't pass the first time because of the Jdm headlights and tails. Where you located in Ashburn?
