Im thinking its the X's fault

Yes the prices of the older Evo's on a whole sale level are going up. Which means people are willing to pay more than before to own an older Evo.

Yeah I laughed at SOuth Park Mitsubishi for asking 26k for a modified 05 Evo SSL. The prior owner had it modified then put it back to stock, but only some parts......Cams were left in, FMIC left on, some electronics, intake, etc etc.....the exhaust was stock with cams in it.....I know thats not a good combo lol......I walked away.......

26k for a modified one is great from a dealer. There was 1 just resently sold here for 27k and it was a stock Evo.

If I could find someone to buy my modifed Evo for 27k it would be GONE! Anyone interested?

Dealer put a high sales price on the Evo 8 and 9 just so that it'll make potential buy think that they might as well get an Evo X for a little bit more.

It's a marketing scheme for them.

The prices are a little higher than other cars of the same year. Its value is holding pretty good but its still going down slowly.

Mine gets more valuable to me every day. Once the evo IX went out of production, that was the beginning of CT9As becoming a "rare" car in many parts of the country. Maybe not so much out west because they were saturated with Evos already. But the number of Evo VIIIs and IXs are only getting smaller with every totaled evo. I think if we give it a few years, low mileage Evo's are gonna go for good money.
