This is according to Kelly Blue Book-
2006 EVO IX RS- $24,800 to $25,600 ($28,680 Original Retail)
2006 EVO IX GSR- $26,600 to $27,400 ($31,400 Original Retail)
2006 EVO IX MR- $28,400 to $29,300 ($35,190 Original Retail)
For Comparison Sake
2006 350Z Touring Coupe- $23,800 to $24,700 ($32,450 Original Retail)
2006 350Z Track Coupe- $24,700 to $25,500 ($34,550 Original Retail)
2006 350Z Grand Touring- $26,100 to $27,000 ($35,850 Original Retail)
During my period of weakness (sorry guys gas was just killing me) I was considering selling my EVO IX RS. I put the word out (for sale sign on the windows and phone number to call) and honestly I was hoping to sell the car for $20,000 to $21,000, but I would have taken $19,000 (I still owed at the time $18,000). So anyways I was offered $23,000, and then $24,500. The $23,000 guy called back and I told him about the $24,500 offer, and he said $25,000. This all took place in two days. I then reconsidered my selling of my EVO and kept her and just bought a cheap a** daily driver. I am never again gonna even consider selling this car. I will pay her off, and then get another EVO, possibly a EVO XI or EVO XII if those ever exist one day.

, how often does some one buy or find low miles supras now a days regardless if he's looking for one or not he probably wouldn't be able to afford it because in fact it would be 60k so that is negligible.
I think the Evolution will become something like the Toyota Supra TT - very rear car that is also very desirable, especially if Mitsubishi kills the switch in the future (I hope not!). The prices will hold up, so take care of your Evo's
While salaries may have increased some what over the last 8 years, it has not been linear in comparison to energy and food.
Salaries may have increased an average of 1 percent per annum since 2000, thus giving us an 8 - 9 percent increase in salaries for 2008 vs. 2000.
Energy prices on the other hand have increased anywhere from 50% - 400% over the last 8 years. Gasoline as averaging $4.00 Per Gallon nation wide (premium). In 2000, premium gasoline averaged $1.10 Per Gallon. That’s almost 4 times the cost.
Lets not even talk about food...
Are you telling me the job you had back in 2000 now pays four times what you earned back then? If so, I'm in the wrong industry..

if you have it they will come
I'm not saying it's common, but people in this thread are talking about already barely driving their 20k mile Evos in the belief that they'll be worth a lot someday. I don't think anyone assumes a 100k+ mile Evo is going to be worth much someday.

As a side note, I was at the Mitsu dealer this weekend getting fluids, and I walked by to look at the X's (there were more than a dozen on the lot). A sale's vulture asked me if I wanted to buy one. I told him I was very happy with my IX. His eyes widened and he said, "Oh if you would like to trade in your IX, I can get you in a X for real cheap. I can sell VIII's and especially IX's." Not the best sales pitch, but I had a really good chuckle.
Interesting comparison. I don't necessarily believe that Evo's are going to be a highly desired commodity in the future, but it seems that all similarly priced cars have lost more value than a comparable Evo. For instance, you can find an STi with similar miles for 3-5K less than a similar Evo. Also, it is not uncommon to see an STi at CarMax. I have never seen a used Evo at CarMax. Not saying they're not there, just have never seen one.

Just this weekend this guy told me in person he would kill for my car, also to contact him if I ever wanted to sell, he was like just name your price.
something is going on with the EVO, something good
i had been predicting this for awhile, glad it's actually happening. . .I use my evo as a daily driver though, so it won't be worth anything when I'm getting rid of it, but as long as it takes me to 150k safely and fast, I'm happy!
that's the reason that I made a thread about them being collectors cars later on. I really believe that they will be, at least the RS and MR models, they haven't even sold many RS's since 03 since they didn't have many over here. I don't know about the MR's I think I read somewhere that the RS's for 06 were like 1400 or 1700... that's going to make a car rare and mark my words, they WILL be collectors cars.
