Fake Walbro Fuel Pumps!!!

I've just bought a new walbro 255 fuel pump off fleabay.

it came in a sytec fse box (didn't realise fse make walbro pumps)

the pump has not come with any instructions? (seems a bit strange to me)

then I stumbled upon this website which has now got me worried a bit!

http://www.exelife.com/blog/automoti...-who-knew.html

anyone heard of this or know how to truly identify the fakes? (the one illustrated on this site has the same number as on the one I bought).

also noticed now that it isn't as shiny as it states on this other website nor does it have the sticker on the bag.

cheers guys

hi, it is the same number as the genuine article (and also the fakes have the make and model stamped on them).....how do I know the difference?

I did by from a big...ish tuning company here in the uk......they might not even know they're fakes???

I'm just suspicious of this one (looks not as shiny, no instructions, different packaging to the above website)

I'm just trying to find out a definitive way of telling them apart?........other than seeing if my engine blows up after a few months.

+1

Even if I spend a tad more, I like the peace of mind from a reputable vender. Ebay is good for cheap 3" exhausts.

If you're really worried about it, resell it on ebay and buy one from someone you've heard of before. They make copies of everything in China.

Sorry about your trouble and thanks for the link. I know for sure there are fake Apex'i turbo timers as well as HKS SSQV so be careful when purchasing from eBay. Rather spend a few extra bucks and buy from a reputable shop. Good luck.

And we thought our Gov. was corrupt That company pays off their Gov. officials to continue to make forgeries of the Walbro pump that not only states the name and looks like it, but it also has Made in the USA engraved in it
