Red oxidizes the most out of all colors. Quite a few car companies do not clear coat red cars due to this reason. I have a Phoenix Red ralliart and yes the paint is thin a chips easily, but it should not fade if you polish is and keep a good coat of wax on it.

thats why we all still just call it rally red
When I bought my touch up paint, the pen said pheonix red on it. The dealer assured me it was the same. Paint looked fine, but the pen is useless.Originally Posted by vipers

its not the same... I have had 03 Rally Red parts and compared the paint to the 06 Phoenix Red and they are not the same. Same thing as people say wicked white is the same as weightless white, it is not the same. And yes I did check with Mitsu, try to go get touch up paint, they say the paint code is the same, you put it on and it won't match.

The IX red is definitely a little different than the VIII red- much better. The X is not red, it is maroon hahaha.

Mitsu doesn't use clear on metalic or pearl paints. I was told that by the Mitsu bodyshop manager at my local dealer when I had some paint work done on my Red EVO 8.Originally Posted by CrackerJackToy
So your saying the Evo9 red actually looks like it has a clear coat on it? My evo8 looks great in the day time, but at night time, it was always so dull.

I have a RR and yes the paint sucks, but so do many of the other colors. Yes you should avoid it because besides being crappy it attracts too much attention from cops

yes I seen that link, but again like I said it is not the same color, it doesn't match exactly. Same thing with Weightless White and Wicked White, close but not the exact same. Mitsu supercedes some paints, in fact when I went to go buy my weightless white touch up paint, they said wicked white superceded and then when I got my touch up paint in, it was labeled as igloo white? All I know is, it doesn't match when I put it on, it looked like a bright white and my weightless white is more creamy.
