What you like about your Evo....
At 8k miles, no problem YET with the clutch... keeping my fingers crossed. What do I like about my Evo? Going over a nice rise on a dirt road up near Yosemite, about 45MPH, catching some air, coming down, sharp left 4 wheel slide-to-drift, into a nasty mudhole, sidways off the "trail" into some brush.... I was grinnig for hours after that. I LOVE THIS CAR!! I love the dirt, dust and mud up the side and over the hood, on the rims and settled on the back bumper. I love telling my wife "thanks for picking THIS car for me!"
i love my evo mostly because today i smoked a porsche boxster like it was my day job and the guy had the funniest look on his face when i flew past him in 4th at about 95......we started in 2nd and as i shifted into 4th i glided right past him, i curently have JIC titanuim catback, rmr induction tube and filter, ground kit, and soon will have Xeddy ecu from vishnue, downpipe, and cat replace pipe..anyone have any ideas on 1/4 mile times with those addons???? i curently hold my best at 13.67&99.7 with 1.84 60ft.....thanks for the help guys...rock on w the evos!
The interior cheapness doesn't matter when the only thing you look at is the tach. Use the $5k you save getting an Evo over an STi and unleash the car's full potential. Which is, simply put, the best performing car south of $50k.
No the car is not perfect but, it is without question the best
Performance car for the money.
I have have 11000 "hard" miles with no mechanical problems.
I have ground the gears a couple of times though.(second and fifth gear believe it or not)
Think go-cart with air conditioning.
Edit...
I drove a modified STI and yes it had a lot of power but
the Evolution feels and handles much, much better.
Adding power to the Evo is easy.

Most likely not.
Anyways, I love everything about the Evo, despite the little problems here and there.
Love how it handles, love how it looks, love how the seats grip you in spite of heavy spirited driving, I am so in love with my Evo.
