Problems With Sunroofs?

My freinds evo has 50K and the sunroof will open, but no longer close now....

And then started acting up becoming worse shortly after that, since it was going to rain and even though it was going to cause more damage. It was forced closed to keep the interior dry...Im just wondering is this a common evo problem?

I don't think that this is that common of a problem, but you posted this in the wrong section. This is the EVO X section, and the X doesn't even have a sunroof option so this is completely out of place here. Mods, please move this or trash it.

wow thats a little harsh...?? arent we here to benifit from info?

its not a common problem but yes it does happen.we have had a few ssl evos come in for that issue, sometimes the motor locks upor jammed due to the sunroof tracks get dirty and grimmy when it rains.its a pain in the butt job to do if its gotta be changed.other advice i can give you is once in awhile he should spray a lil silicone spray on the tracks(i usually do after it rains)they could use some love...search the forums theres topics on this.

There was a thread the other day so I am just repeating what I read.....

You take down the headliner and the screws that hold the sunroof motor in place fall on your head. Replace the screws and all is good.
