Aw man that sucks to hear. It doesn't matter what you're driving when you hit water and mud.... it sucks and if you're going too fast then you've had it. I say get what you can from the insurance, source all the parts you need from salvage yards, breakers and online sources like craigslist ebay etc. If you've got the skills, contacts and resources at your body shop then make use of them! Repair the old girl and put her back on your road as your daily driver... I think if you choose something else you'll miss the Evo.

Like others have said the main thing is you are OK.

well the estimate was just over $19k. so I am waiting to hear back from state farm. It is crazy how pricey parts are for these cars. I could still drive this thing if the intercooler wasnt damaged

And really, you work at a body shop, you should know if it's worth it or not...specially since I'm sure you get hookups

19k in damage! The car must be really worse than how you say. Sounds like the insurance is going to call it totaled. Good luck tho!

you should take out the drivetrain and brakes and weld them all into a beat up POS looking honda CRX or a 78 VW Rabbit and make everybody poop thier pants when you kill them off the line
