paycut may force me to sell Evo...Opinions

Well today was a sad day in that I received word that the company I work for will be doing some furlough's as well as cutting pay as much as 15% affective two pay periods from now. This has put me in a very tight spot obviously and since I pay for college on my own, I may not be able to afford my Evo and it's accompanying expenses.

Anyway, if it comes down to this I'd like to ask what everyone thinks would be a fair asking price for my Evo? I am hoping to at least make what I owe on it, so I wanted to get opinions on what people would think it would be worth. Here is the mod-list and a link to some pictures (it now has the spoiler and MR style tails):

31,023 miles and 3,320 miles on the stroker.

-AMS 2.3 stroker shortblock (new stock head and valvetrain)
-IX turbo
-ported manifold
-ported o2 housing
-BC 272/272 cams
-SP Meth kit (100% meth)
-Injen intake and ic piping
-XS Power (E-bay) intercooler
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-Hallman pro MBC
-Defi boost guage
-AEM UEGO wide-band
-Act Xtreme clutch kit w/ streetlite flywheel
-stainless steel clutchline
-greddy RS blow off valve

I really hope I do not have to do this, I am enjoying this car way too much.

Thanks!

Suck man, well quit modding and you should be able to keep it...

I would say 35-40, i haven't seen super modded evos go for much more but maybe some1 else has.

Sorry to hear that. But in all honesty, being in college and having an Evo is already going to take its toll on any student's income, so I'm amazed that you made the decision in the first place to mod your car that much.

You have way too much in the evo to sell it man. You should get a cheap beater and keep the evo for a fun weekend car. Look for some cheap insurance, quit modding for a bit, and don't drive it so often and you should be good to go.

That is useless advice, that won't help him at all. Having a beater isn't going to alleviate his financial issues, it'll make them worse since he'll still have the same payments to make on the car along with whatever mods he charged. He wasn't getting hurt by gas prices or insurance rates, its his change in monthly income that is causing him to not be able to pay for his auto expenses.

You're and school and you're paying for it.

The pay cut is certainly substantial and I'm sure that it's worth more than a few bucks. Sell the Evo! Once you get your ducks in a row, buy a house, it'll be time to get a high-performance vehicle.

15% pay cut, with short notice?

I say you start interviewing. There are many other companies out there.
Some even pay for your college.

That is far from a super modded evo, its pretty much bolt on stuff besides a 2.3 stroker. I would say 26-28k .

Best advice, get a decent 4 cyclinder car that doesnt cost too much on insurance and payment. Pick a car that has good resale value, so u can get back into an evo when the time is right.

Sorry to hear about your dilema...If in the end you have to sell your car Super Street came up with a formula to get a fair asking price in selling a modded car. First take the blue book value of the car and add on 15% of the total cost of all the parts on the car(not including labor). Hope this helps.

dude, worst case, part out what u can, dont give up your baby unless you totally 100% have to.

Or you could take it apart and hide it in someones basement. Had a guy in my hometown do that so his car didn't get repoed. Weirdo. Haha

Concentrate on school first and foremost. A good education is never effected by a poor economy. On a different note I predict this fall will be a truly biblical time to purchase that muscle/collector/sports car that may have been finanically out of reach for the last decade.

Thanks for the tips guys, I appreciate the responses!

I actually didn't spend too much money on mods, I bought the car with most of the bolt-ons. I also have a beater car I drive daily, so the Evo is only driven on nice weekends. But after finding out how much of my money will be cut on a bi-monthly schedule it will be tough affording not so much the car note but also my insurance since the car is now listed in my name only. I really hope I don't have to sell her, but we'll see what happens with a few opportunities that I've applied for.

thanks again folks..
